Okay, last of the self-spam, I swear.

But this day was definitely the best of ‘09 for me, and definitely the pinnacle of my music biz career.

This is the after-party of Always Patsy Cline’s closing night at the Ryman. I’m standing next to the divine Miss Mandy Barnett, who played Patsy at the show. (Mandy is the hottest thing I’ve ever seen.) Next to her is Terry, her costar. On the other side of Terry is my dear friend Hayley. We are in the upstairs balcony/corridor of the Ryman Auditorium.

Earlier that day, I had lunch with Charlie Dick, Patsy Cline’s husband, on his 73rd birthday. He walked Hayley and I to the Country Music Hall of Fame, where we got in free with VIP access. During the play, I got to sit next to their son, Randy, which was a very moving and humbling experience for me.

I hate the pic because I look really fat, but I’m still so glad I have it. It’s hard to imagine topping that day. Maybe if Bob Dylan and I had gone to a water park together afterward… then maybe it would have been better.
